Featured Project: Clear Dermatology, Sinking Spring, PA

Clear Dermatology, located in Sinking Spring Pennsylvania, incorporates bright lighting, soft colors, and a combination of textures to create a warm and welcoming environment for its guests. The office space began as an old barn, making this specific project a historical renovation. Designer Julie Garman wanted to incorporate Clear Dermatology’s Dr. Jennifer L. Mueller’s own personality in the new office space, leading to its Californian inspiration with a combination of glam and bohemian aesthetics. The space also displays some treasures from Dr. Mueller’s travels, adding to its uniqueness and sophistication. With these treasures and design inspirations, the space is personal and allows clients to feel comfortable and welcome as they enter the space.

Designer Julie Garman incorporated soft colors and variations of textures to contribute to a warm environment, different than anything around it. Straying away from the traditional, plain environment that doctors’ offices have, Julie pulled inspiration from different design techniques, such as biophilia, which incorporates the use of nature to create a welcoming environment. The space features a “living logo wall”, which uses moss and other greenery to tie-in the colorful, natural aesthetic in contrast with more solid textures such as marble, glass, and warm wood. The living wall also helps to tie-in the light pink, turquoise, gold, and green used throughout the rest of the space.

Marble, glass, and mother of pearl and light pink and gold are used to create a clean look, which contrasts nicely with the warm wood and greenery. This contrast results in a combination of glamorous and bohemian aesthetics, which ties in Dr. Mueller’s home state of California, giving the space a chic and sophisticated look. A calm environment is maintained in the office space with the soft colors and textures utilized to create a spa-like atmosphere. Julie ensured all floorings and finishes are commercial grade to withstand the everyday use that comes with commercial spaces. Julie tied income modern design trends with the artwork in exam rooms, textured chairs and tufted couch in the waiting room, and combinations of gold and marble throughout the space. The space has a truly high-end appearance, which is on-par with the supreme quality of treatments offered at Clear Dermatology!
